Tips for Maintaining a Healthy Lawn
Insecticide Treatments - Should be a part of your Siani Lawn Care program if your lawn has a history of insect infestation.
Lawn Disease - Fungus Diseases are one of the most difficult to tame. Disease treatments do not usually eliminate the disease. However, suppress activity for a period of a few days to several weeks. Often several treatments are needed.
Core Aeration - Is one of the most important cultural practices for your lawn. Aeration helps control thatch, improves soil structure, creates growth pockets for roots, and allows water and fertilizer to enter the root zone.
Renovation - Is needed when serious disease or insect damage has thinned your lawn badly. Newer turf grass varieties that are greener, more drought tolerant and insect resistant are sown deeply into the soil for better germination.
A Healthy lawn height is from 2.5 to 3.5 inches. A lawn cut short promotes weed growth, insects and robs your lawn of important nutrients.
Be sure the mower blades are sharp at all times. Dull mower blades will cause a brown lawn appearance and this may cause disease infestation.
A proper water schedule must be followed to keep your lawn healthy and green. During hot summer months, you should deeply water your lawn 2 to 3 times per week, in the early morning hours. Avoid evening watering.
